New England Hazmat Conference

Terms of Use

nehazmatconference.org | Effective Date: September 15, 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of nehazmatconference.org (the "Site"), operated by the Massachusetts Association of Hazardous Materials Technicians ("MAHMT," "we," "us," or "our") in connection with the New England Hazmat Conference (the "Conference"). By using the Site, registering for the Conference, or submitting a form on the Site, you agree to these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

2. Purpose of the Site

MAHMT was established in 1991 to represent the members of the regional hazardous materials response teams and to enhance professionalism and quality of service among those charged with the emergency handling of hazardous materials. The Site provides information about the annual New England Hazmat Conference, including the agenda, presenters, accommodations, vendors and sponsors, and event registration.

3. Event Registration and Ticket Purchases

Tickets to the Conference are sold and processed through Wix Events. Ticket prices, available dates, and any applicable service fees are as stated on the Site at the time of purchase. All sales are final except as required by law or as expressly stated on the applicable event listing at the time of purchase. If you have a question about a ticket purchase, refund, or cancellation, contact us using the information in Section 14. We reserve the right to change the Conference dates, location, schedule, or presenters, or to cancel the Conference, for reasons beyond our reasonable control, and our liability in that event is limited to a refund of the ticket price actually paid, to the extent required by law.

4. Speaker and Vendor/Sponsor Submissions

If you submit a speaker proposal, or a vendor or sponsor registration, you represent that the information you provide is accurate and that you have the right to submit any materials included (such as a photo, biography, or company logo). Submission of a proposal or registration does not guarantee acceptance; all speaker proposals are reviewed by the Conference Planning Committee, and selections are based on relevance, focus, cost, and practical application, in our sole discretion. By submitting a proposal, photo, biography, or logo, you grant MAHMT a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and display that material on the Site and in Conference promotional materials in connection with the Conference. We reserve the right to decline or remove any speaker, vendor, or sponsor from the Conference or the Site at our discretion.

5. Conduct at the Conference

Attendees, speakers, vendors, and sponsors are expected to conduct themselves professionally and safely at all times during the Conference. We reserve the right to remove any individual from the Conference, without refund, for conduct that we determine, in our reasonable discretion, to be unsafe, disruptive, or inappropriate.

6. Assumption of Risk

The Conference may include hands-on training sessions, equipment demonstrations, and other activities involving hazardous materials response equipment and techniques. Participation in any hands-on session is voluntary, and you assume all risks associated with your participation, to the fullest extent permitted by law. If a presentation has age, physical, or other participation requirements, they will be identified by the presenter or Conference staff.

7. No Warranty

The Site and the information on it (including the agenda, presenter list, and accommodations information) are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We make reasonable efforts to keep Conference information accurate and current, but details such as dates, presenters, and schedule are subject to change.

8. Third-Party Links

The Site contains links to third-party websites, including vendor and sponsor websites, the MassMutual Center & Convention Center, our social media pages, and MAHMT's own website at mahmt.com. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of any linked third-party site.

9. Intellectual Property

All content on the Site, including text, graphics, logos, and the Site design, is owned by or licensed to MAHMT and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws, except for third-party trademarks, logos, and materials (such as vendor and sponsor logos), which remain the property of their respective owners. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from Site content without our prior written permission.

10. General Audience

The Site and the Conference are directed to hazardous materials response professionals and are not directed to, or intended for use by, children under the age of 13. If any current or future form on the Site asks you to submit personal information, you must be at least 13 years of age to do so.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MAHMT and its officers, directors, members, and volunteers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of your use of the Site or your attendance at the Conference. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles, and any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Site will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Massachusetts.

13. Changes; Miscellaneous

We may update these Terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. These Terms were last updated on September 15, 2026. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and MAHMT regarding the Site. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of that provision.
